As always, a number of our events are offered on a donation basis. During our first eight years, we almost always suggested donations of at least $5. However, given the Center’s financial condition, it’s become necessary to increase the suggested donation to $10 for some of those events, and to $20 or more for a few. Please understand that donations are still entirely voluntary, that donations of every size are truly appreciated, and that we don’t want anyone to decide not to come to these events for financial reasons. The Center’s priority always is to be of service and fulfill our mission as a charitable organization, rather than to make a profit (we never have). Please support us to the extent you can and to the extent you feel the Center is of value to you.

EVERY DAY OR WEEK Back to top

REVISED - Every Day - CASUAL TOURS AND GROUP SACRED SOUND SINGING BOWL SESSIONS by Jack Sisk. Everyone is welcome to visit the Center and see why so many people consider it one of the safest and most sacred place they’ve ever been. When time permits, Jack loves to introduce people to the facilities, programs and experiences the Center offers. The full tours include introductions to many religious/spiritual traditions, are very experiential, and typically end with Jack playing and toning with a crystal singing bowl, which gives a brief introduction to the Center’s large set of those bowls. (Many people say the full bowl sessions provide the most profound meditative experiences they’ve ever had, and people often go beyond this into visions, spiritual insights, emotional releases, physical healings, and experiences of the divine.) A complete tour usually takes about three hours. The full tours are well worth the time, but you’re certainly welcome to come for shorter tours (at least 40 minutes is suggested). No appointment is necessary, but it’s wise to call to check Jack’s availability. Donations are requested to support the Center (the suggested donation for the full tours is at least $10 per person); however, as always, donations are purely voluntary, and we don’t want people to avoid coming to the Center due to financial considerations.

Sunday - FAMILY GATHERING (TALKING CIRCLE) facilitated by Jack Sisk, 12:15-1:45. We come together as a loving family to honor and celebrate each individual’s sacred identity and the divine reality that links us together. We connect to each other and to the one reality that underlies all religious and spiritual traditions. This is a sacred and confidential Talking Circle - we pass a talking stick and learn from each other. Everyone is committed to be loving and compassionate. You might hear readings from various traditions and authors, music from various cultures, and much more. Considerable support and insights are generated. Participation is encouraged, but not required. Donations are requested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

Sunday - SILENT MEDITATION AND PRAYER GATHERING led by Jack Sisk, 4:30-5:15. Each gathering centers on a 30 minute session of silence for meditation or prayer. This began as a meditation gathering, but we’ve expanded it to include people who would prefer to pray - everyone is invited! Brief meditation instruction (in Buddhist and Hindu forms) can be provided prior to the gathering by appointment, and the period of silence will be followed by an opportunity for discussion. Donations are requested to help support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

REVISED - Tuesday - SPIRITUAL STUDY GROUP - WHAT IS ENLIGHTENMENT facilitated by Tim Altpeter, 7:00-8:30. This study group addresses various current books, videos and subjects. Every week is a new experience. This very animated group rides the wave of current spiritual developments. Donations are requested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it). Note: Russell Hayden previously facilitated this group, but has moved to Atlanta.

REVISED - Thursday - REIKI/ENERGY CIRCLE, 7:00-11:00. All energy healing modalities are welcome in this powerful circle of healing, spiritual energy. This particular Circle is open only to practitioners. It’s been held nearly every Thursday for almost eleven years. We start with a talking circle and meditation, and then share our healing energies. You may leave whenever you’re ready. Jack Sisk facilitates most of these Circles, but Jim Lane facilitates the Circles on the fourth Thursdays of every month. Donations are requested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

  BY APPOINTMENT Back to top

By Appointment - GROUP RELIGION/SPIRITUALITY TOURS OF THE CENTER by Jack Sisk. Jack offers private group tours of the Center by appointment, exposing participants to a wide array of religions and spiritual traditions, and presenting numerous opportunities for powerful spiritual experiences, culminating in an hour-long crystal singing bowl performance including most of the Center’s bowls. Many people say the full bowl sessions provide the most profound meditative experiences they’ve ever had, and people often go beyond this into visions, spiritual insights, emotional releases, physical healings, and experiences of the divine. These tours are very popular. They usually take three or four hours, and to the best of our knowledge no one has ever felt they were too long. Because of the time involved, private group tours are arranged in advance and usually are scheduled in mornings (before the Center opens) or sometimes in evenings so as to maximize the private time. A donation of at least $10 per person ($2 for young students) is suggested, and there‘s a minimum of four people.

By Appointment - GROUP SACRED SOUND CRYSTAL SINGING BOWL SESSIONS by Jack Sisk. Jack plays and tones with eight crystal singing bowls (the largest of which is 32". Many people say these sessions provide the most profound meditative experiences they’ve ever had, and people often go beyond this into visions, spiritual insights, emotional releases, physical healings, and experiences of the divine. The sessions take about an hour and 15 minutes for people who have not had them, and about 45 minutes for people who have. They’re performed on a love offering basis, but we suggest a donation of $10 per person, if you can afford it.

By Appointment - INDIVIDUAL SACRED SOUND CRYSTAL SINGING BOWL ATTUNEMENTS by Jack Sisk. Jack performs private attunements with eight crystal singing bowls (the largest of which is 32"), two metal singing bowls, toning, a didgeridoo, a large gong, two equally large drums, bells, and more. These are powerful spiritual and energetic experiences - virtually everyone feels the attunement is one of the most profound experiences they've ever had. The attunements typically take 2½ hours, and are strictly private (no observers). They’re performed on a love offering basis, but we request a donation of at least $100, if possible. Subsequent attunements are ninety minutes long, with a requested donation of at least $70. These sessions are by appointment only, and setting up the instruments takes considerable time and effort, so we request that a donation be made if you cancel on less than 24 hours notice. Please note that as mentioned earlier, Jack also offers intense, briefer singing bowl sessions for groups.

By Appointment - MEDITATION INSTRUCTION by Jack Sisk. Jack has considerable experience in Hindu and Buddhist meditation practices. He’s especially able to help beginning or struggling meditators. Donations are requested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

By Appointment - PAST-LIFE CLEARINGS by Roxanne Sears. Roxanne identifies blockages in your energy field that arise from unresolved past-life issues, and releases them. Her clearings bring you a greater understanding of your soul’s purpose while also addressing emotional and mental imbalances. Everyone who’s experienced Roxanne’s sessions has found they bring up extremely helpful information that’s truly their own. Fees: $70 for 1 hour, $100 for 1.5 hours, and $130 for 2 hours. Please contact Roxanne at (636) 946-5218 for an appointment. Note: She also sees people at her own clinic in St. Charles.

By Appointment - THERAPEUTIC “BODYWORK” by Donald Lenort. Sessions can help heal traumas and injuries, assist in grounding and centering, integrate experiences, reduce stress, and more. Sessions are individually tailored and may include modalities such as CranioSacral Therapy, Zero Balancing, Quantum Touch, Synergia, Thought Field Therapy, Reconnective Healing, Myofascial Release, Lymph Drainage, Reiki, and Energy Kinesiology. Massage therapy is not included, and clients are fully clothed. Donald has been involved in healing practices since 1987 and has a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. $75 hour. By Appointment - REIKI ATTUNEMENTS AND SESSIONS by Reiki Masters Susan Brockmeier, Deb Evans, and Anna Roach. Each of these Master Teachers has her own special expertise. Please call for more information.

By Appointment - AKASHIC RECORD CONSULTATIONS by Michaela Turner. These consultations, which were popularized by Edgar Cayce, allow you to unveil the mysteries in your life, understand your soul’s purpose, use past-life experiences to enhance your life, make choices that best serve your spiritual growth, and more. Fees are $30 for 15 minutes, $55 for 30 minutes, and $85 for an hour. Please call at (314) 749-1572 for more information or appointments.

By Appointment - CRYSTAL RESONANCE THERAPY™ SESSIONS by Anahata (Anna) Roach. Crystal Resonance Therapy™ is based on aspects of both quantum and Newtonian physics; using basic laws of energy movement and electromagnetism to effectively shift energetic blocks and patterns within the physical body and energetic field. Integrating the natural energies of the earth, the electro-magnetic frequencies of crystals and minerals, and gentle guided meditation, CRT™ helps one achieve a harmonious balance between body, mind and spirit. Sessions last 90 minutes and the fee is $100. For more information and appointments, call Anahata at (314) 406-4484.

NEW - By Appointment - SOMAENERGETICS VIBRATIONAL TUNING (TUNING FORK SOUND THERAPY) by Mark Biehl, a SomaEnergetics Level 1 Practitioner. We store experiences as energy experiences, and some experiences create blockages. This Therapy fees blocked energy and enables you to access and integrate energy stored within your energy anatomy. This produces spiritual, emotional, and physical benefits. Sessions are usually one hour, fully clothed on a massage table. First session $35, then $50. For more information and appointments, call Mark at (618) 257-0803.

MONTHLY & SPECIAL EVENTS Back to top

NOTE: Events elsewhere or on hiatus are italicized.

Sunday, February 5 - NEAR-DEATH STUDIES GROUP (almost always held on the first Sunday of every other month), 2:00-4:00.  The local chapter of the International Association of Near-Death Studies (IANDS) holds their monthly meetings at the Center, and everyone is welcome to attend, whether or not you’ve had a Near Death Experience.  These meetings celebrate life, love and remembrance.  The meetings are free, although the group requests donations to the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

ALREADY FULL - Saturday, February 11 - MONTHLY SACRED SOUND SINGING BOWL SESSION by Jack Sisk (almost always held on the second Saturday of each month), 3:00-5:00.  Many people asked for regularly scheduled crystal singing bowl performances, so we’re now scheduling them as monthly events.  These events are more elaborate than in the past, and are quite sacred. The performances typically begin with a verbal introduction to the experience.  There’s a fee of $10, and prior registration is required because space is limited.  The Center’s doors will be closed to the public while these programs are taking place, so please arrive on time.  Note: Given the popularity of these gatherings, we’ll probably change to doing this twice a month.  The next scheduled session will be March 10.

Sunday, February 12 - COPING WITH ILLNESS (usually held on the second Sunday of each month) with Janis Yakopovic, 1:00-3:00.  This is a support group for people with chronic or disabling health issues.  Donations are requested to support the Center and Janis (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).  If you can, please let us know you’re coming.

Sunday, February 12 - SATSANG (SACRED DISCUSSIONS ON HINDUISM) (held on the second Sunday of each month) led by Jack Sisk and Donald Lenort, 3:00-4:00.  While Jack supports all faiths at Living Insights, personally he’s been a Hindu for nearly 50 years, he’s very active at the Hindu Temple of St. Louis (for example, he gives tours), he offers courses in Hinduism, and he’s an experienced meditator.  He’s been asked to lead periodic discussions on Hinduism at the Center.  Donald is highly trained, extremely well read, and deeply experienced in meditation and other yogic practices and the states of consciousness they can take you to.  There will be no fee, but donations will be suggested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).   If you can, please let us know you’re coming.

NEW - Friday, February 17 - DREAMING YOUR WOLD INTO BEING THROUGH SACRED JOURNEY by Peruvian Shamanic practitioner Mary Agnew, 6:00-9:00 pm.

Mary is a student of the teachings of the Q’uero People, Shamans of the High Andes in Peru, who draw upon the power of mountains and “the Collective” for healing.  Her teacher is an American professional who has studied indigenous and other healing traditions for over 35 years, was mentored for eight years by Alberto Villoldo of the Four Winds Society, and more recently has taught with Jose Luis Herrara and his Rainbow Jaguar Institute.

The technique of journeying has been used by all Shamanic traditions throughout the ages.  Mary will lead you on a Sacred Journey to the “lower” world, the place where we dream our world into being, the place of possibilities.  You will step beyond the world as we experience it daily to create a new template.  You may discover a power animal who has chosen to work with you at this time.  You may find clarity regarding issues.  We will weave this new understanding into our souls by releasing that which no longer serves us and intentionally drawing in the change that calls us.  Please wear comfortable clothing, and bring a light blanket, a journal, and an open heart.

Please register as space is limited. $20 fee.

NEW - Saturday, February 18 - INTRODUCING NATURAL SOUND THERAPY, USING THE SOMAENERGETICS “ENERGY VITALITY” TUNING FORKS AND TECHNIQUE by Mark Biehl, 2:00-4:00.  Mark is a SomaEnergetics Level 2 Practitioner in Tuning Fork Sound Therapy.  This Therapy activates the energy in the root chakra and raises it up through the other chakras, allowing energy to flow freely. When this occurs, new choices in our lives can be awakened and we can have new-found energy from within to make changes in ourselves.  Each Therapy session also  helps our bodies adjust to and integrate the higher vibrations that accompany raised consciousness.  Mark has started offering one-hour sessions at the Center, and this is a free introduction, including brief individual Therapy sessions.  If you can, please let us know you’re coming.  Note: This is an afternoon event.

Sunday, February 19 - MONTHLY KIRTAN (almost always held on the third Sunday of each month) led by Brad Smith and Mike Webb, 7:00-9:00 pm.  Kirtan is the singing or chanting of mantras as group, producing a powerful connection with the divine and an extremely joyful state of being.  Participants generally repeat chants sung by the leaders, but sometimes we improvise. This event has grown in power in recent months. Donations are requested to support the singers and the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

Wednesday, February 22 - HEALING TOUCH SESSIONS (usually held on the fourth Wednesday of each month) by Healing Touch practitioners, facilitated by Chris Rouse, Cindy Rouse, and Colleen Weidemeier, 6:00-8:00 pm.  This is another great opportunity to experience wonderful energy work.  Donations are requested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

Wednesday, March 7 - TWIN HEARTS MEDITATION AND PRANIC HEALING SESSIONS (held on the first Wednesday of each month), led by Dale Bilyeu and Lynn Maupin - Meditation at 6:00, Healing Sessions 7:00-8:30 pm.  At 6:00, Dale and Lynn lead the powerful Twin Hearts Meditation, which is used to direct peace, love, joy and goodwill to Mother Earth, blessing the Earth with Divine Light, Divine Love and Divine Power.  It’s also a tool for achieving divine consciousness, and has many health benefits.  It was created by Master Choa Kok Sui, the creator of Pranic Healing.  Beginning at 7:00, Dale, Lynn, and other Pranic Healing practitioners offer a Pranic Healing clinic so you can experience this exceedingly beneficial healing modality.  You also will be able to learn more about upcoming classes, meditations and events.  Donations are requested to support the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).

  UPCOMING Back to top

Some exciting events are in the works, including but not limited to those listed below.  We’ll get back to you with the details.

MARCH - SUFI ZIKR by Christopher Moinuddin Clarke, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Christopher was a prominent local Sufi. He’s moved to Washington, DC, but comes back for visits and returns to Living Insights.  Zikr means remembrance of our divine nature, a practice of reunion with our true selves and with the Divine Reality. Zikr practice uses meditation, breath and attunement to the sacred names of God, enabling us to remember this reality within our hearts. As the great Sufi Hazrat Inayat Khan said, “By Zikr, the expression of the countenance becomes harmonious, the voice becomes melodious, the presence becomes healing, and one’s magnetism is spread in the atmosphere. There is nothing that by Zikr cannot be accomplished, either an earthly or a heavenly thing. Some by Zikr have liberated their souls from all bondages and attained ideal perfection...” The event includes teachings and chanting.  There is no charge, but donations are requested to support Moinuddin and the Center (at least $10 would be greatly appreciated, if you can afford it).  Please let us know you’re coming, if you can.

SONGS, DRUMS & RATTLES (THE THIRD IN A SERIES OF THREE PROGRAMS ON NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITUALITY) by Victoria Fortner, 2:00-4:00. We’re presenting another series of programs by our Native American teacher.  Victoria is a prominent member of the Native American community, an Herbalist, and a member of Living Insights Board of Directors.  She is a pipe carrier, a 19-year Sun Dancer, a 4-year Ghost Dancer, and a Storyteller and she travels nationally presenting workshops on Native American history, culture and traditions.  She’s done seven programs here in the past, and they’ve all been very well received. She accepts only gas money for these programs, and generously donates the rest to the Center.  The last program will be SONGS, DRUMS & RATTLES.  Bring your voice and, if you have them, hand drum and rattle.  Native American songs from all over the country will be taught, along with things to look for when purchasing or making a drum or rattle.  This session will be fun and will include opportunities to participate!  The program is $25, but if you attended another program you’ll receive a $5 discount.

LIFE CHANGES AND RENEWAL GROUP led by Diane Castro, MA, LPC, LCSW, a Bereavement Specialist with BJC Hospice.  Diane recently provided a program here entitled LIFE CHANGES, LOSS AND RENEWAL.  She works professionally to assist people in dealing with major life changes, and will bring her expertise and skills to the Living Insights community on a continuing basis, emphasizing healing and renewal in various dimensions.

ADDITIONAL EVENTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON.
