The Small Sanctuary
(Tour narrative by Jack Sisk)

Small Sanctuary The small room beyond is a sanctuary that’s one of the most popular parts of the Center. I am a practicing Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist - we honor all traditions, but my personal practices are in those traditions - and this is the room in which I do my rituals. Many people find this is their favorite room, because the energy is experienced as being very high-frequency but also very peaceful. Very commonly, people will come and meditate in this room.

Most of the items in this room represent Tibetan Buddhism, but there also are many Hindu icons as well as a few some Christian, Jewish and Muslim items. Various beings that have been of assistance and that we believe are continuing to be of assistance to the Center are represented here - particularly St. Theresa, Mother Meera, and Shirdi Sai Baba. I do various rituals in this room, particularly the Shiva lingam water puja that I mentioned down on the first floor. People are invited to use this room but not, however, touch any of the items with the exception of the kartika, which is on the altar in the front. This is a Tibetan ritual tool shaped like a large blade with a Tibetan dorje on the handle. This is used to sever attachments. This one has been empowered by a Tibetan shaman named Sangya Tenzin. Some people even come here specifically just to hold the kartika. It assists in severing attachments to things that we are ready to let go of. The other thing that people are allowed to use is Shiva lingam holy water if there is some in the bowl.
